A sling is the friendliest cocktail there is. Make a jug of the base before people arrive and top with soda to order.
Method
- 01
Fill a tall glass with ice and set it aside to chill.

Shake the spirit, lemon juice, sugar syrup and bitters hard with ice for 12 seconds.

Strain into the chilled glass over fresh ice.
- 04
Top gently with soda water and stir once, from the bottom up.
