Styling notes

Fashion & wardrobe.

I want to be a stylist because I believe getting dressed should feel like a small daily kindness. Here's how I think about it.

Ivory blazer, Tiffany blue silk scarf, gold hoops and tan loafers on cream

Four rules I actually use

Style, not fashion.

  1. 01

    Buy the shoe twice.

If you wear it every week, replace it before it dies — and replace it with the same thing if you loved it. Wardrobe maths.

  2. 02

    One excellent neutral coat.

Camel, cream, or charcoal. Wool. A size up for layering. This is the piece that does the heaviest lifting in your photos and your life.

  3. 03

    Tailoring is your edit suite.

A R450 hem can turn a charity-shop blazer into the best thing you own. A good seamstress is a lifelong relationship.

  4. 04

    Colour from the scarf.

If you're nervous about colour, wear it next to your face in a scarf or earring. Anchor with neutrals. Feel braver next week.

The cass capsule

Six pieces, endless outfits.

  • Ivory tailored blazer

Shoulder structure, sleeve a touch long, single button.

  • Wide-leg trouser

Wool-blend, full break, pressed crease. Looks like you've thought about it.

  • White cotton shirt

Crisp poplin. One size up. Sleeves rolled twice.

  • Cashmere crew

Oat, navy, or black. Worth the splurge once.

  • Loafer or ballet flat

Leather, soles that can be replaced, slightly worn.

  • Silk scarf

Your colour. The whole outfit, for the price of one accessory.

Signature scent

Myrrh & Tonka.

My latest love is by Jo Malone — a fragrance that wraps around me like a warm scarf on a cold morning. It is rich, resinous, and quietly commanding. I wear it as the final layer of an outfit, the thing people remember after I've left the room.

  • Top note

Lavender — calm, clean, and inviting.

  • Heart

Myrrh — warm, golden resin with ancient depth.

  • Base

Tonka bean, vanilla & almond — creamy, smoky, and impossibly long-lasting.

When to wear it

Autumn / Winter

Day — under a camel coat with cashmere and boots. It holds its own against the cold and lingers beautifully on a scarf. Night — with velvet, candlelight, and a bold lip. The myrrh turns smoky and dramatic after dark.

Spring / Summer

Day — one spritz on the wrists, paired with white linen and gold jewellery. The lavender keeps it fresh. Night — on bare shoulders at twilight; the tonka sweetens as the air cools.

Favourite scents

The collection.

  • Lolita Lempicka

Gourmand and fairy-tale sweet — licorice, violet, and warm vanilla in a violet apple bottle.

My go-to for winter evenings. I reach for this when I want to feel wrapped in something magical.

  • Flower Bomb, Viktor & Rolf

An explosion of patchouli and tea rose. Bold, unapologetic, and impossible to ignore.

Still a powerhouse. I wear this when I need to feel invincible — meetings, dinners, days I want to be remembered.

  • F***ing Fabulous, Tom Ford

Leather, almond, and clary sage. Cool, expensive, and exactly what it says on the bottle.

The name is not an exaggeration. This is my confidence scent. One spray and I feel like I own the room.

  • Gucci by Gucci

Guava, pear, and tahitian tiare flower. Sultry, tropical, and quietly powerful.

A summer holiday in a bottle. I spray this and instantly feel sun on my skin.

  • CK One

Clean, green, and effortlessly cool. The scent of a white T-shirt and fresh laundry.

My easy, no-think scent. Perfect for errands or days when I want to smell good without trying.

  • Poly, Ted Baker

Bright, playful, and polished — the finishing touch for a put-together day.

Pretty and polite. I wear this to brunch or casual Fridays when I want something light and cheerful.
